Matildas Winery will be a newly established company, which will operate a modern contract winery business that will be located on Matildas Estate Vineyard in the Denmark region of Western Australia.

In establishing a new state of the art winemaking facility, Matildas will be positioned to provide their clients with the following services:

Full winemaking services.

  • Juicing
  • Blending
  • Bottling (dedicated bottling line)
Matildas Winery’s point of difference is that they are a contract winemaker for all clients including Matildas Estate. Matildas Winery’s will promise to our clients ‘To retain the integrity of the growers grape variety. No mixed batches. The grower’s grape, wine and reputation are maintained and enhanced- not compromised.’

Winemaker and production manager: Brenden Smith (ex chief winemaker at West Cape Howe and Goundreys.

Winemaker: Coby Ladwig (ex West Cape Howe Winemaker)

Viticultural advisor: Bryce Edwards (South Winds Viticulture)

All three of our key personnel are highly respected in their fields, not only in the Great Southern wine producing area but also throughout Australia.

Mission

The mission of Matildas Winery Pty Ltd (“MW”) is “To craft Ultra Premium Wine equal to the sublime beauty and integrity originating from the vine.”

In striving to achieve their mission, MW will pay particular attention to every relationship and interaction;

  • with the vines and the grapes that become the wine.
  • with the staff, winemakers and business associates that co-create our client’s wine.
  • with the local community, artists, musicians, restrauants and other businesses that shape the ”Matilda’s Experience”, and make it FUN.

Progress

  • June 2006:Winery Design began.
  • .January 2007: Castle Rock Logistics contracted to produce winery designs.

  • May 2007: Earthmoving began.

  • May 2007: Building tender process initiated.

  • May 2007: Tank tendering initiated.
